Occzendo selected as a finalist in Startup 4 Climate 2026
Occzendo has been selected as a finalist in Startup 4 Climate, the competition that highlights innovations with a strong climate impact. On 10 November, we will pitch Smart Vacuum Pressing (SVP) to an expert jury at Helio GT30 in Stockholm.
Drying pulp and paper uses about half of a mill's energy, and the process has barely changed in 40 years. Our patented SVP technology combines pressure and vacuum in the press section, removing more water before it has to be evaporated. This can cut drying energy by 10–20%, or raise production by the same amount, in existing mills. The potential is about 5 TWh a year in Sweden and up to 100 TWh a year globally.
"We're honoured to be among the finalists. The paper industry can be part of the solution for both the climate and the energy transition, and this gives us the chance to show how," says Tomas Anderson, founder and CEO of Occzendo.
Follow us on the road to the final on 10 November!
